There's a wall in my basement coffee/dessert bar adorned by these images. Each one represents a family member by their favourite sweet.
The lineup is by age, oldest to youngest. My son doesn't know about the wall of sweets; he's never seen it.
He hasn't seen the renovated kitchen, the rose garden, or the back deck.
And we haven't seen him.
Not since 2012 when he estranged himself from us.
I miss him.

I wrote a comment and then it vanished into thin air. if this is duplicated I apologize. Is that cherry cheesecake? Mmm....one of my favs as well as whatever cake that is of your husbands. Cake is my favorite food group.
ReplyDeleteBut since discovering I'm celiac I no longer can have good cake. :-(
My husbands daughter has estranged herself as your son did. It pains him.
I understand your situation and I'm sorry.
Hi Margaret! Good to hear from you, and thanks for the comforting words ♥

ReplyDeleteThank you, Liz.
DeleteFamily can be so complicated. I'm so sorry. (Cake for me.)
ReplyDeleteYes. So complicated.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea. Children can be extremely hard to understand sometimes. I do wonder what planet mine came from sometimes.
